"we're called ..... re:order" [we were a bit over-whelmed]
us: "do you want to hear old stuff or new stuff?"
them: "OLD STUFF!!!"
us: "who's going to see new order in hyde park?.........I'll see both of you there then"
us: "morrissey must have a glass eye" (???)
us: "thanks, you've been a great audience - apart from you three twats over there"
highlight: musically our most competent gig yet (though we were told after by some of the hardcore that maybe we're a little too competent now - that's mancunian irony for you) but the best remembered part for us will always be the response from the academy crowd - smiths fans 'n' all
notes: we had to start ludicrously early in order to accomodate all three performances and the 11pm curfew. in fact the tickets had the doors opening when were expected on stage, but the venue was fairly heaving not long into the set. random moment: we were going to do crystal but changed our mind after I bar and did ultraviolence/icb instead. prompted by the fact the real order are playing half our set these days and the close proximity [calendar and geography] to a certain event.
shame about those unused guestlist places.... hopefully we'll see you next time!
