us: "we're called re:order but paradoxically we're going to be doing a joy re:vision set tonight"

us: "you should hear our version of small town boy... woah!"

us: "in the words of bernard sumner: if you like that one, you'll like fookin anything!"

dave: "more reggae!"

bert: "more gay disco!"

punters: "well, that was a bit self indulgent."

highlight: the joy division material for a change; the ri:ot, the drop goal 5 mins before we started.

notes: another in the pantheon of idiosyncratic gigs from re:order's book of ill-advised ideas. the theme for this one was a belated tribute to john robert parker ravenscroft - falling as it did on the 2nd anniversary of 'john peel day'. there was a little anxiety that the mix of obscure tracks and oblique references might fly over the heads of some of the audience - but they can go and stick the greatest hits up their arse.
so we presented a set largely made up of session tracks, festive fifties and other significant entries. more debuts than sense us.... she's lost control, atmosphere and turn the heater on.
the combination of the excitement of the rugby and the brilliant idea led some to resort to violence.
unfortunately, this wasn't captured on video as we didn't have anyone in the audience trustworthy enough to hold our camcorder and we had to put it on an amp and shoot from the stage - meaning most of the action was obscured by will's great arse.
