us: "good evening. we're re:order, you're the audience... and you're all coming back to mine for a sauna after the gig"
us:
(after one song) "we've been asked by the promoter to play a greatest hits set - so this will be our last song"
us: "we can't see any of you, are you all really attractive?"
them: "YES!"
us: "then you can all come a bit closer"
us: "we could spend all evening dedicating songs to people lost to the big factory in the sky...
but this one is for larry cassidy"
legge: "I'm with the band!"
atr: "you only played shit songs tonight"
highlight: world. in. motion. guest vocals and world cup dancing from mr leggyD with a special thanks to all those who sang along. and apologies to all the glasgow order who stoically tolerated our self-indulgence.
notes: another big gig for us, we've played at a couple of joy division venues but this was the first time we shared a venue with the real order (obviously not at the same time). we wouldn't normally do exactly what a promoter would expect us to do, so a 'best of' set is fairly contrary for us. don't expect us to make a habit of it though, or do. we don't care and it won't make a difference to what we end up playing. or it might.
hooky didn't turn up as far as we know, but a whole host of hardcore orderites did and made a much bigger noise for us than the smyths enjoyed. thank you.
